CICS Concepts and Operation

Purpose

This assessment measures your general knowledge of CICS concepts, common CICS terminology, and the environment that CICS operates in. It also tests the skills required to enter the correct CICS commands, and interpret CICS command displays and system messages.

Audience

This assessment is designed for data center staff responsible for operating and monitoring the CICS subsystem.

CICS Startup and Shutdown
Format and Syntax of CICS Commands
Interpretation of CICS Messages
Resolving Operational Problems Associated with CICS.

Assessment Detail

This assessment contains 25 questions that will take approximately 50 minutes to complete. Ten minutes before this time limit has expired, a warning message will be displayed. If the assessment is exited before the last question is displayed, or the assessment exceeds its time limit, scores based only on the questions that you have answered will be recorded.

The question types in this assessment are mainly simulation, multiple choice, drag and drop, and true or false. The questions displayed are different for every examinee because a number of core questions are always selected along with a number that are taken from a pool. All questions are then randomized to produce your customized assessment.

No technical manuals or references (either vendor or internally developed by your organization) should be used during this assessment.

Pass Mark

The pass mark for this assessment is 70%.
