JES2 Concepts and Operations

Purpose

This assessment measures your general knowledge of JES2 functionality and tests skills associated with entering commands used to start and stop JES2. This assessment also tests your ability to enter appropriate JES2 commands used to display or control JES2 devices and the interpretation of any resulting data.

Audience

This assessment is designed for data center staff responsible for the operation and monitoring of JES2 controlled devices or other IT specialists that are required to have a solid understanding of the JES2 product.

Assessment Coverage

This assessment covers the following topics:

General JES2 functionality
Identifying and interpreting JES2 messages and displays
Starting/stopping JES2
General use of JES2 commands (e.g. display, cancel, purge, halt, interrupt, hold, release, drain)
Performing spool offloads

Assessment Detail

This assessment contains 37 questions that will take approximately 75 minutes to complete. Ten minutes before this time limit has expired, a warning message will be displayed. If the assessment is exited before the last question is displayed, or the assessment exceeds its time limit, scores based only on the questions that you have answered will be recorded.

The question types in this assessment are mainly simulation, multiple choice, drag and drop, and true or false. The questions displayed are different for every examinee because a number of core questions are always selected along with a number that are taken from a pool. All questions are then randomized to produce your customized assessment.

No technical manuals or references (either vendor or internally developed by your organization) should be used during this assessment.

Pass Mark

The pass mark for this assessment is 70%.
