The Datatrain Mainframe Learning Path tool provides individuals with a graphical, defined path of learning activity that lays the foundations for technical competence in their job role. Each learning activity displays an estimated completion time enabling learners to plan their training time effectively.

Datatrain Mainframe Learning Path Function

A user interface screen displays a varied list of mainframe software applications enabling selection of topics relevant to the user's job role. After the relative products and skills have been selected, the Learning Plan will be generated and displayed. Clicking on any of the topics reveals a list of related e-learning courses. Selecting from that list displays information about the course.

Skills Assessment Tool

Mainframe Skills Assessments consists of a comprehensive sets of questions arranged in product categories. The assessments are intended to measure the mainframe student's technical competence:

• Measurable data showing skills learned and retained
• Determine a pre-training skill level benchmark and then compare to post training assessment results
• Enables ROI calculation on all training expenditure
• Know exactly what your people do and don't know
• Pinpoint team / individual knowledge gaps and strengths
• Measure effectiveness of existing classroom courses
• Use for objective performance appraisals
• Use in the hiring process

This assessment tool will form the backbone of your site specific, mainframe certification program.

Skills Assessment Function

• Questions are either core or pool. Core questions are always included in the assessment and a percentage of pool questions are randomly selected
• Over 90% of questions are new and do not appear in the individual courses
• All questions are randomized before being displayed to the user
• Questions are weighted and scored according to importance. I.e. In a drag and drop question each correct answer may be awarded half a point while a correct answer in a simulation may be awarded two points
• On average, each assessment takes between 45 and 75 minutes
• All questions are based on job competencies. Each question is linked to a Datatrain course and to IBM manuals
